This Bud’s For You!

On the way to the bus stop this morning, a thought occurred to me. It’s early March.

The blossoms are not supposed to be out. It’s not right.

Mother Nature hasn’t given the sprouts on the Bradford Pears permission to make their entrance yet.

But they’ve decided differently. Just look around.

I took these pictures for those who have found the courage to bloom, even though your season says,

“Not yet.”

Who cares if you’re older than you’ve ever been. Who cares that you’ve never been here before.

It doesn’t matter. Something is calling you out of your old season. You’re not late, not even early.

You’re right on time.

This bud’s for you!

  1. I love this! Last November I turned 51. All my life I have wanted to run but never been able to – runnning to the end of the street made me think I was dying. For my birthday I asked my husband for running shoes and on December 4th I joined a Couch to 5K Training group – all ladies, no intimidation and the most wonderful encouragers on this earth. Last night I ran 5 miles. Now, I’m not fast but I’m steady and I am happy running. God knew that this would be My time to “bud” regardless of how anyone feels. So, I accept and enjoy this bud and am so thankful for it! I hope you found a bud today too 🙂

    • That is so beautiful! Why is it that we think if we haven’t bloomed by 35, we’ve lost our opportunity? The world, our family, our friends…they all may say “Not yet,” but we won’t accept it. You go run that 5K because this is your time, Donna. Who knows what it will lead to next. You inspired me today!

    • I have felt that running urge myself. I am 37 years young and my friend who is a runner told me about couch to 5k. Good for you for going for it! 🙂

      • Thanks! And you go for it too if that’s what you want. You can do it.

  2. Love this, Kimberlee. My pastor spoke about this last week how Max Lucado (sp?) was in a triathlon and was on the last leg. he ran up beside another guy and he was complaining away. He couldn’t take it, he ran on and reached a 69 year old lady who was as pleasant as could be, he ran with her for awhile but she had slowed down for him, he told her to go on ahead because he had to slow down! HA! So funny how we look at age sometimes, it’s not your age it is what you are doing with it.

    • Amen!! There’s something about marathons and running that give us the perfect insight to our race in life. So glad Jesus is there with us every step of the way.
